APPLICATIONS FOR POSTGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMMES 2017

 

 

The Fort Hare Institute of Social and Economic Research (FHISER) is a dedicated interdisciplinary research institute and post-graduate training centre located in the University of Fort Hare’s East London campus. During the last decade, FHISER has been involved in both applied and academic studies and has an outstanding publication and research record. We offer cutting-edge research Masters and PhD degrees and have fellowships in the following interdisciplinary degree programmes: 
  •  Coursework Masters in African Studies: this exciting new addition is geared to stimulate new and dynamic scholarship on African issues and concerns. Students can expect to be part of a dynamic working team environment that combines academic and applied perspectives. The programme offers courses in Methodology, Cultural, Gender, Urban and Historical Studies, as well as Politics and Development.  The course is available on a full-time and part-time basis for 2015 and successful applicants may qualify for bursaries and scholarships from the University. Research Masters and PhD Degrees:  Successful applicants for research-based postgraduate degrees will form part of FHISER’s ongoing engagement with provincial and international research partners, and will be offered internships based on experience and focus.
